Our Legacy, Our Home– the property in which SCI now resides is a 40-acre parcel that was originally homesteaded by Gene and Jeanne Rondeau 25 years ago. In 2005, the Rondeau’s generous donation of their property, including a modern house, storage sheds, and greenhouses gave SCI a home.  The property, just north of Two Harbors, Minnesota, is evenly bisected by Silver Creek, a cool, well shaded, North Shore tributary to Lake Superior.  The entire 40 acres, excluding 4 acres surrounding the current infrastructure, is undeveloped and will remain so governed by a conservation easement with the Minnesota Land Trust. Thank you Gene and Jeanne, we would not be here without you!

SCI now provides a unique internship opportunity as interns/resident caretakers share their energy and enthusiasm for sustainability with the community and gain valuable hands-on experience maintaining crops, equipments and facilities, while living at the site.
