Silver Creek Organics is SCI’s sustainable agriculture program.  Our vision is to educate local consumers about the benefits of growing and buying organic food.  SCI has an organic garden, seasonal greenhouse, and a 4-season greenhouse complete with a 1,000-gallon cistern, irrigation and temperature control systems.  Silver Creek Organics is a working model for year round sustainable agriculture in a northern climate.  Produce production in cold weather will be achieved in a cost effective and energy efficient way.  We will provide organic herbs and micro-greens to community restaurants, as well as, specialty organic vegetable and herb starts to individuals for summer gardening. Silver Creek Organics will test new techniques for organic pest management, growing season extension, the impacts of global climate change on local agriculture, native horticulture and more.
